Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the rice, then soak it in plenty of water (not included in the ingredients) for 15 minutes. Drain well in a strainer.

Step 2

Scrub the sweet potato well and, leaving the skin on, cut into ½-inch (about 1 cm) cubes.

Step 3

Place the rice, sweet potato, Kayanoya Original Dashi, salt, and water in a pot. Cover and cook over medium heat. Once it comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low and cook for about 11 minutes. Turn off the heat and let stand, covered, for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Once the rice is cooked, gently mix to distribute the sweet potato. Serve in bowls and top with a small amount of butter, if desired.
