How to Use Dashi as a Seasoning

To avoid clumping, try adding the powder before heating. If sprinkling over hot food, reduce steam exposure or transfer the powder to a small plate before using.

Our Light-in-Sodium Dashi contains less salt than Original Dashi. Simply reducing the salt can disrupt the overall flavor balance, so in Light-in-Sodium Dashi we increase the amount of dashi ingredients used. This allows us to maintain a rich, satisfying flavor even with a lower sodium content.

A fermented seasoning is a type of condiment made by fermenting ingredients such as soybeans or wheat. It is known for its rich umami flavor. Soy sauce is one of the most common examples of a fermented seasoning.

Yeast has long been used in food production, such as in the brewing of beer and wine, the fermentation of bread, and the production of fermented foods like miso and soy sauce. It is widely used as a food ingredient.
