Skillet Paella

A colorful, umami-packed paella made in just one skillet. The rice absorbs the deep flavors of vegetables and clams as it steams to perfection.

Ingredients

2 Servings
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 7 oz clams
  • 1/2 bell pepper
  • 4 green beans
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • [A] 2 packets Kayanoya Original Vegetable Stock Powder (remove from the packet)
  • [A] 1 1/8 cups water
  • [A] 1/4 cup unsalted tomato purée

Directions

  1. Mince the onion and garlic. Clean the clams. Remove the stem from the bell pepper and slice thinly. Cut the green beans in half.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant, then add the rice and stir until coated with oil.
  3. Add clams, bell pepper, green beans, and [A]. Cover with a lid and cook on low heat for about 15 minutes. Once the liquid is absorbed, turn off the heat and let it steam.

Tip: Let the rice slowly absorb all the vegetable umami for a richly flavorful finish.
