Crispy Avocado Pocket Sandwich

The rich umami and creamy texture of avocado are enhanced by frying, creating an irresistible bite. A snack so delicious, you won’t be able to stop at just one!

 

Ingredients

2-3 Servings
  • 4 slices sandwich bread (thick-cut)
  • 1 avocado
  • 1/4 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 packet Kayanoya Original Dashi Stock Powder (remove from the packet)
  • Vegetable oil as needed

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine bite-sized pieces of avocado, finely chopped onion, mayonnaise, and Kayanoya Original Dashi Stock Powder. Mash the avocado while mixing until well combined.
  2. Remove the crusts from the sandwich bread and roll each slice with a rolling pin until it is about half its original thickness.
  3. Place the avocado mixture between two slices of flattened bread. Press the edges firmly with your fingers to seal.
  4. Heat about 1 cm of oil to 360°F. Fry the sandwiches on both sides until golden brown and crispy. Drain excess oil and serve warm.
