Vegetable Dashi French Toast

Ingredients

  • 2 slices white bread (thick-sliced, about 1-inch slices)
  • 2 slices ham
  • 2 slices cheese
  • [A] 1 egg
  • [A] 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 packet of Kayanoya Original Vegetable Stock Powder (removed from the packet)
  • 2 tsp olive oil

Directions

  1. Cut each slice of bread in half.
  2. In a bowl, mix the Kayanoya Original Vegetable Stock Powder with [A], then soak the bread halves in the mixture for about 15 minutes.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet and pan-fry the soaked bread until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Place ham and cheese on two of the fried bread slices, reduce the heat to low, then top with the remaining slices to make sandwiches. Cover with a lid and cook until the cheese melts. Serve hot.
