Dashi Butter Curry

In just 10 minutes, you can make this popular butter curry right in the microwave. The rich flavor of butter is perfectly balanced with the savory depth of Japanese dashi, leaving a light and clean aftertaste.


Ingredients

  • 8 shrimps
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1/2 onion
  • [A] 1 packet Kayanoya Original Dashi Stock Powder (remove from the packet)
  • [A] 1 cup water
  • [A] 4 blocks curry roux
  • [A] 4 tbsp yogurt
  • [A] 0.7 oz butter
  • [A] 1 clove garlic, grated
  • [A] 1 piece ginger, grated

Directions

  1. Peel the shrimps. Cut the tomatoes into wedges and roughly chop the onion.
  2. Place the prepared ingredients from 1 along with [A] into a heatproof bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave on medium (about 600 W) for 8 minutes. Remove from the microwave, stir lightly, then microwave for an additional 3 minutes.

Tip: This recipe uses Kayanoya dashi, with the packet opened to release the seasoning inside.
