Dashi Meat Sauce for Pasta

It's easy to make this memorable sauce, bursting with umami flavor.

  • 4 ounces ground beef
  • 7 ounces mixed vegetables (your favorites), chopped
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 ounces sake (or white wine)
  • 1 can whole tomatoes
  • 1 packet Kayanoya Original Vegetable Stock Powder (remove from 1 packet)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar


  1. Heat olive oil in frying pan and add vegetables, garlic, and ground beef. Sauté.
  2. Add sake, whole tomatos, and pour in Vegetable Stock Powder, salt and sugar. Stir and simmer.
