1. Use one packet of Osaka Limited Edition Kayanoya Dashi Stock Powder per 1 1/4 cups of water. Place water and unopened packet in a small pot. Bring water to a boil over medium heat, and simmer for 2 minutes.  
2. Remove the packet and stir in the liquid base.
3. Add any favorite ingredients (such as chicken or shrimp) and continue simmering. Skim broth occasionally. When added ingredients are well-cooked, add udon noodles and simmer on medium heat for 1--2 minutes.
