Simmer to Make Broth
Drop the whole packet into water, bring to a boil on high, then simmer on medium for 3 minutes.
Basic Broth: 1 packet per 2 cups of water.
Perfect for: miso soup, clear soup, chawanmushi (steamed egg custard), udon, soba.
Rich Broth: 2 packets per 2½ cups of water.
Perfect for: simmered dishes, dipping sauce for noodles (mentsuyu), or dishes needing a stronger flavor.
