Original Vegetable Stock Powder is made from quality vegetables. This mixture of dehydrated vegetables is a naturally rich source of umami (savory flavor) and sweetness. HOW TO USE KAYANOYA PRODUCTS:
1) Stocks
There are two ways to prepare Kayanoya stocks. If your dish requires clear stock, use Method 1. If your dish does not require clear stock, use either Method 1 or Method 2. Both methods result in full-flavor in the stock.

Method 1: The infusion method
One packet per 1 and 3/4 cups water for regular strength dashi or two packets per 2 cups water for strongly flavored dashi.

Place water and Stock Powder unopened packet in a saucepan. Turn on the heat and bring the water to a simmer over medium heat. On simmering cook it for 4 minutes.
Remove and discard the packet. The prepared stock is ready to use.
Method 2: The direct powder method: Produces stock with particles of powder
Place water in a saucepan. Tear the powder packet and empty the contents into the saucepan. Turn on the heat and bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. On simmering cook it for 4 minutes. The prepared stock is ready to use.
2) Seasoning
Remove the stock powder from packet(s) and add directly to stir-fried dishes; use as a rub for meat, poultry or seafood, as an addition to pasta and pasta sauces, as a flavoring for rice and grains, as a flavoring for hamburger and more; before baking sprinkle on pizza dough.

Tips:
a. Prepared stock stays fresh for 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator.
b. After opening the bag containing the packets, remove the air in the bag and close it tightly; store in a cool, dry and dark place. No refrigeration is necessary.

So flavorful and NO MSG at last!
I love Japanese food and all kinds of condiments, but one issue I find is that a lot of Japanese ready-made broth, sauce, condiments, etc. contain MSG in the ingredients. But NOT Kayanoya! Hallelujah!!! It is amazingly flavorful - I use it for soup base, use it like spice by opening the packet, I mix it with flour or panko when coating chicken, etc., I mix it in marinades, and so on. Yum!

Incredible flavor, We use in stews and soups. Adds much umami to your foods. Have used directly on food like a spice, makes meat stand out with flavor.

Absolutely loved it.
I grew up in Japan, and get every opportunity to get good quality Japanese base products like dashi (broth), genmai (brown rice), soy sauce..so although this product is a bit pricey, I decided to give a shot. It's fragrant, yet delicate and delicious. I've just made a soup - by just having as a base soup - it's so delicious by itself.
