Kobe and Nishinomiya are famous for cuisine with Western flavors. Normally, we offer this special dashi only in those cities. It’s a veggie stock powder that’s rich and fragrant with the umami of vegetables and fine herbs. Excellent for use in dishes such as stews, pastas, and more.

This dashi combines five kinds of vegetables (onions, garlic, carrots, celery, and cabbage), the famous sweet onions of Awaji Island, plus the flavor of the carefully selected herbs — a combination that offers unique flavors along with an intense, rich, elegant aroma.

How to Store: Avoid humidity or direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate, but store in a cool place.

How to:

One packet per 1¾ cups water (400 ml) for regular strength dashi, or two packets per 2 cups water (500 ml) for hearty dashi. 

Place water and unopened packet(s) in saucepan.  Bring water to simmer over medium heat, and hold temperature for 2--3 minutes. 

Remove from heat and discard packet(s).  Stock is ready to use.
